"Friend & Foe", leadership strategies with Professor Adam Galinsky in Barcelona
Columbia Business School Alumni Club of Spain

Adam Galinsky

Meet our renowned authority in Social Psychology to learn innovative leadership and negotiation strategies laid out in his book "Friend & Foe"

Join us at welcoming Columbia Business School professor Adam Galinsky on his visit to Barcelona. Professor Galinsky has kindly offered to share his groundbreaking views on leadership, power and negotiation strategies from the perspective of a world renowned scientist on Social Psychology.

The event will start with an introduction made by Professor Galinsky on his research and findings about succesfully navigating in the social world of business and management with well-proven Social Psychology strategies, laid out in the much praised book "Friend & Foe: When to cooperate, when to compete, and how to succeed at both", co-authored by him together with Professor Schweitzer (Wharton School). A debate among participants on the ideas presented will follow.

An excerpt from the book's review by The Financial Times is well indicative of the interest of its content:

"Their approach yields fascinating and often counter-intuitive examples…. The book aims high and largely fulfils its promise of handing the reader tools to be a better friend and a more formidable foe.... if you cannot shift between competition and co-operation according to the situation, you are doomed to lose out."

Further information about the book can be found at http://friendandfoebook.com/.

A fine selection of wines (refreshments also available) and light snacks will be offered during the event, making this an excellent opportunity to renew relations and network with fellow alumni and their guests. In addition, participants are encouraged to join in an optional friendly dinner after the event at a restaurant nearby.
